The Livin’ is Easy

We didn’t go away for the 4th of July, but I seriously felt like I was on vacation. I had a few clients away last week, so I had lots more time on my hands for working out and chilling with my main men. We went to our friends Elle & Tim’s place for a barbeque on the 4th – they have a rooftop terrace, with an incredible view of the Hudson River. I was more taken with their views of water towers, though:

I never get tired of looking up to see these quintessential New York skyline icons. I also never get tired of taking photos of them – I can’t resist.

Tim is a fellow Aussie, so this was the odd (given the occasion) decoration on their terrace:

Always fun to hang with another Aussie in New York. Represent! πŸ™‚

We left pretty early so we’d have time for Roman’s bedtime routine. Of course, Independence Day calls for some patriotic PJ’s!

And, as you can tell, Fran and I had a crazy night watching the fireworks on TV! πŸ˜‰

The rest of the long weekend was spent hanging out with friends in the neighborhood, good food, lots of quick trips to the local playground for swings and cooling off in the sprinklers.

And, despite the ridiculous hot temperatures, this mama still got her running in:

The Livin' is Easy - Hot Weather Running

It’s official. I’m a crazy runner.

All the hot, hot weather we’ve been having makes me crave a beach vacation. We’re thinking maybe Florida, or South Carolina. Anyone got any recommendations for an affordable, family-friendly beach town? Spill!

How was your 4th of July, if you celebrate?

What are your summer vacation plans?

Do you run outside in the hot weather?

  1. We had a great 4th – lots of late nights and fireworks here!!
We are actually headed to Florida in just over a week – I’m looking forward to the vacay but not so much the long drive!!
And, just this morning, I wimped out on the humidity – after teaching a very muggy 6 am boot camp – I did my run on the treadmill!!

    1. You have to be a little bit nuts, that’s for sure! If it wasn’t humid as well, it would be okay.
