Fit Mama Friday – Round Up #2

Fit Mama Friday - Round Up #2

Hey, Fit Mama Friday fans! πŸ™‚ My Fit Mama for this week fell through, so it’s time for Fit Mama Friday Round Up #2 of some of the awesome mamas I’ve featured in the past! (Stay tuned next week – I’m featuring a fellow Sweat Pink Ambassador, Casey from CSW Fit Yoga).

For this Round Up, I’m focusing on mamas who need to workout. I mean, we all need to workout, but these women would probably go a little cray if they didn’t have the outlet of exercise.

Fit Mama Friday - Meet Zoe.First up, we have Zoe, mum to two girls (her ‘angels’), who lives in the Australian bush. (That’s ‘outback’, for my American readers!). Zoe struggled with debilitating asthma and a strong hold on the word “can’t” when she was younger. Recently, when Zoe realized she was struggling with depression; when her daughter’s chronic illness was taking its toll; when she felt like she didn’t have anything just for her, she began ballet. Self taught. In her living room. Yup. Hers is a very empowering Fit Mama Friday story.

Fit Mama Friday - Meet Aimee

Another mama who works out for her own mental health is Aimee, who as well as working full timeΒ outside of the home and being a mama to two gorgeous girls, blogs at Teeny and the Bee. Aimee’s youngest daughter has special needs and their life is filled with doctors visits, specialist appointments and therapy. Every time I read her blog I get choked up and awed at how brave and strong and what a wonderful mama Aimee is. She runs to keep it all together.

Fit Mama Friday - Meet Emily KI find Emily K‘s story so motivating when I’m considering skipping a workout, or cutting one short. Emily suffers from terrible migraines. In fact, one of her migraines lasted 3 months and had her taking round after round of steroids to try to manage the pain. Yet, despite ongoing chronic headaches and migraines, Emily still works out and finds that exercise helps more than any medication she’s tried over the years. She is inspirational.

Don’t forget, I’m always on the lookout for new, awesome mamas to feature! If you’re a fit mama, or you know someone who is, send them my way. You can use the Contact Me tab above, or just email me at finefitday [at] gmail [dot] com.
