Scenes from a weekend #23

SPRING!

Yes, it is warm and sunny in beautiful Brooklyn.

That did not stop Roman from asking if we could go play in the snow on Saturday morning. He also requests to wear his puffy coat every time we go out, so the whole change of season thing has really gone over his 2-year old head. πŸ˜‰

One of the sure signs of Spring in our neighborhood is the local ice cream store reopening its doors. Roman had his first ever ice cream cone – turns out he’s a big fan.

We also hit the playground, hard. He thinks he’s so cool in his new sunglasses. πŸ™‚

Scenes from a weekend

I had a glorious 11 mile long run early on Saturday morning. I’ve been running in the afternoons on the weekend the last few months, so I’d forgotten how nice it was to get my miles in before breakfast. When I got home, Roman had just woken up, so we had breakfast together.

On Saturday night, we couldn’t get a sitter for our friend’s birthday party, so I took one for the team and stayed home. My big night in (after getting my monkey down to bed) consisted of compression socks, a glass of wine and a movie with the cats. It was lovely.

We switched days for Roman’s swimming lessons, so that Fran could come along too, so I got to watch from the sidelines this week. He is really digging the water and it makes me so happy that he’s so comfortable in the pool.

I was very excited that my bama + ry necklace arrived! I love it! It works perfectly with the initial necklace I wear all the time.

Grandma arrived Sunday afternoon for a visit for a couple of days, which was very exciting. When Roman woke up this morning, his first words were, “Grandma’s coming!!”Β By the time she arrived, he lasted about an hour before having to nap.Β

Is it warm and sunny in your part of the world?

Would you rather have a quiet night in, or go out and party?

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? (Me: mint chocolate chip)

    1. Right there with you on running outside! A foot massager sounds so awesome. I may have to look into one of those!

    1. Corn ice cream! That’s something I never would have imagined, but I would totally try it. #mintchocolatechipforever

  1. I know this ins’t normal but I don’t really like ice cream (or frozen yogurt).
It has been super nice and warm this past week but today we had major thunderstorms come in and cool things down – we are actually supposed to get snow tonight/tomorrow.

    1. Kim – WHAAAATT? You just blew my mind. Ugh to snow – lucky you’re a tread miller!!

  2. Those sunglasses kill me! So adorable! I’m so excited for the nicer weather!

I love staying in. I used to love going out but these days, some nice wine and good food at home are all I need!

I just tried Talenti gelato for the first time recently. The sea salt caramel is so addictive. I have to hide it from my husband so I can eat it all!!!

    1. I have tried that Talenti flavor and it’s ridiculously good!! Roman is so cute with those glasses. He’s really into being “cool” right now (I have zero idea where he gets this from), so after I told him he’d look cool in sunglasses, he was all over them. He even wants to wear them inside.

  3. This was one of my favorite weekends of recent times, and it didn’t even have compression socks! Maybe next time.
    Roman is adorable.
My favorite ice cream flavor is probably vanilla based peanut butter cup. Or like the previous poster said, Sea Salt Caramel by Talenti! So good. And I love cookie dough with rainbow sprinkles.

    1. It didn’t have compression socks in it, but it had cookies!! Glad you had a great weekend, too. πŸ™‚
