Scenes from a weekend #27

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy and I very much enjoyed the lovely warm, Spring weather that NYC offered up! The weekend kicked off with this momentous occasion on Friday night:

BIG BOY BED!

Scenes from a weekend #27

I was terrified to do this because all Roman does when he is awake is run around like a mad person. But the first night, he was amazing. He was so proud of the fact that he could climb into bed by himself and he had a pretty uneventful night, not waking up until 6am.

Night two: He went to bed easily, since he was so tired out from rampaging around all day. Around 10pm, I heard the lamp in his room being jostled. Thinking it was a cat locked in, I went to investigate. It was super dark, but as I looked at the bed, I was pretty sure there was no small person curled up on it. I grabbed a Β flashlight to investigate further…and saw some little feet behind the rocking chair, with Roman resting his head on the lamp base, fast asleep.

His dad is a sleepwalker, so maybe we should have seen this coming. πŸ™‚ He didn’t stir when I put him back in bed and didn’t wake until he fell out of bed at 6:30am the next morning. Yeah. We need to work on it.

Saturday was SUPER fun! I went the the A Healthy U conference, organized by Nellie, Kimberly and Cassandre, which was awesome – fun, informative, great speakers, a workout and lots of snacks and lunch! Look out for a post on it soon.

I also got a couple of runs in – Sunday was a little tougher than usual, since I went out mid-morning, after Roman’s swimming lesson, and it was already warm and sunny out. It was the first time since last summer I stopped at every water fountain along the way.

P.S. Stability balls are perfect for elevating your feet after a long run!

Mother’s Day on Sunday was lovely and low-key. Roman presented me with this card (he was so proud of his drawings):

We headed to the park for a lovely picnic.

It really was the perfect day for stretching out in the shade and running around in the sunshine.

Scenes from a weekend #27I need to give a shout-out for my amazing husband Fran. He went out of his way to make Sunday special for me. He made dinner Saturday night (he NEVER cooks, so this was a big deal). He made me breakfast Sunday morning. He took Roman to the park after we went swimming so I could get my run done. He organized the picnic for us. He is such a great partner, and daddy and I’m lucky to have him! πŸ™‚

How was your weekend?

Mamas, how did you celebrate? (P.S. I got a great response from my plea for Fit Mama Friday submissions, but please feel free to forward to all your friends and spread the word!)

Do you sleepwalk? Or sleeptalk?Β

Thanks mama-to-be! πŸ™‚ It was such a sad little sound – “ka-thunk” then tears. He’s getting much better with it now. πŸ™‚

  1. Happy Mother’s Day!
I’m envious – I really wanted to go to HealthyU! I might not have fit in very well, but I wanted to meet Nellie so badly. I’d be a fitblogging imposter for that.
