Scenes from a weekend #37

I’m on a roll with totally unplanned weekends turning into two days of awesome. I think part of it is because we seem to be skipping the usual August meltdown of ridiculous humidity in NYC, so running and outdoor time has been lovely.

I did a little running.

I bought that shirt from Old Navy after I saw Carla from Real Into wearing it. I’m not embarrassed to blatantly copy others! πŸ˜‰

I did a little spinning.

That’s my bestie, Maggie. πŸ™‚

We had lots of fun on our stoop (between playground trips). Did someone say water balloons??

My boys and I headed out for dinner together on Saturday night. πŸ™‚ Going out for dinner requires several stops along the way so Roman can check everything out. Here is our cow stop.

And delicious, delicious eats, all weekend.

Fran and Roman went to the diner for a boy’s breakfast date Sunday morning while I was running and spinning. Afterwards we all met up at a friend’s house, where Roman and his little buddy checked out the cars and trucks on the street below.

All in all, a pretty relaxing weekend.

What did you get up to?

Do you watch shark week? Fran’s obsessed. He’s even been cage diving with great whites.

Water balloons or water pistols?

    1. I’ll have to check out your road trip post! πŸ™‚ My husband made me watch Jaws before we got married – it was his version of a prenup. (I’d never seen it).

  1. What a great weekend! Perfect family weekend πŸ™‚ I have not been paying attention to shark week, but I did see parts of sharknado last week…….wow, thats all I can say hahaha! I had a busy weekend, but means my 18 mile progression run is waiting for me today…..lets see how that goes!

    1. I hope your progression run went really well!! Fingers crossed it was the breakthrough workout to get out of a mental block! Um, Sharknado I never saw, but the previews alone were bizarre!

    1. You are BADASS! I accidentally saw a shark snorkeling in Turks & Caicos and I was surprisingly not as freaked out as I thought I would be. It was actually kind of awesome.

Thanks for the compliment on the dress! It’s from Witchery in Australia – I love their clothes. πŸ™‚

    1. It’s on sale right now for $7! Old Navy has surprisingly cute workout gear – I never would have known if I hadn’t seen it on Carla’s blog.

  2. Another great weekend for you all! The water balloon idea is genius. I will be doing that with the boys ASAP! We had a whole wedding weekend over here, that the boys were in, and it was lovely. The weather was amazing, my cousin is so happy and the boys did great. Now I’m exhausted and need another weekend… oh and I snuck in an 18 miler on Sat morning with a friend who is training for a marathon…you know, just for fun πŸ™‚

    1. I saw a pic of you & the hubby – you looked gorgeous! πŸ™‚ And I totally understand the 18 miler just to hang with your friend. I would do that, too!

  3. Cage diving with great whites! I think that needs to be a blog post of its own.
I often say I’d do that over trying drugs. I’m not even kidding. I do love sharks.
    Love your dress!

    1. When he got back, I have to admit I was *almost* tempted to do it myself. They are amazing animals.

  4. I drank a can of Coke on my way home from the deli over the weekend. As you may have guessed, my wife is not a proponent of soda. So yes, I “snuck in” a soda. Having read that somebody on here “snuck in” an 18 mile run, well, you don’t sneak those in. Soda, yes. 18 miles, no. If I ran 18 miles there would be billboards proclaiming my superior conditioning.

  5. We haven’t been watching Shark Week…it would probably freak out my Triathlete husband πŸ™‚ But the four of us are totally obsessed with American Ninja Warrior at the moment. This weekend we did one of those cruise around Manhattan things (it wasn’t love), finally saw Divergent (that was love) and took my new mountain bike out (like love x 1000).

    1. Loving American Ninja Warrior as well! I’m so happy for you with your new mountain bike – she is beautiful. πŸ™‚
