Fine Fit Day Year in Review 2014

Friday on my mind…

Happy Friday, my lovelies! I’ve had a wonderfulย week, mainly because I am feeling normal again! Not too many headaches, nausea gone and a little more energy makes me a much happier bunny. I am also so happy it’s FRIDAY and the weather is beautiful in NYC. Should be a lovely weekend.

Again, no Fit Mama Friday, but the good news is I’ve had some new submissions, so once I’ve contacted everyone you will be seeing some more fierce, fit, fabulous mamas on Fridays soon.

Just a quick post today – next week I will be telling you all about the FitBlogNYC event I was lucky enough to attend yesterday, so here’s a sneak peek of all the fun:

Friday on my mind - FitBlogNYC Fine Fit Day

This weekend I’ll be posting another Run Report, since I’m running again and it feels SO GOOD! Woo hoo! There’ll also be some preggo news wedged in with my running, for those of you who are interested in how the bump is coming along.

In the meantime, even though I haven’t been reading nearly as much as usual (I’ll be playing catch up soon!), I’ll leave you with a few links that I’ve loved lately:

I love the Examine site, because they use peer reviewed studies and evidence to draw conclusions on supplements and nutrition. This was a great article: 10 Awful Nutrition Myths Perpetuated by the Media.

Sometimes when your performance (in anything) suffers, it’s difficult to pinpoint what’s going wrong. Loved this post from Family Sport Life:ย 3 Reasons You Aren’t Performing Your Best (with some advice on getting back to your best).

I’m a huge fan of brussels sprouts – if you are, or you’re not a convert but could be convinced, you should check out these 10 Recipes to Make You Love Brussels Sprouts, via Bendiful Blog.

    1. Loved your MCM recap! Sounds like such a great course (I mean the monuments, not the hills!!)

  1. You are the best! I so wish we could have spent more time together in the city. It’s always such a quick trip. BUT, it was a great event and getting to see you twice in two days was so worth lugging all that swag back to CT!! OMG ridiculous!!!

    1. I don’t know how you and Amanda schlepped all that AND your suitcases too! It was bad enough traipsing around on the subway with it! They don’t mess around with those gift bags.

  2. OMG Carly, you’re pregnant! I didn’t know and I just realised reading your post!!!
Huge Congratulations!!!…I did a little search in your blog before writing this, just to be sure ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s awful to feel sick, and having another little person expecting to have your attention doesn’t allow you to have a rest when you feel like it, right? I’m glad you’re feeling ok now!

    1. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love that you did your research so you didn’t accidentally congratulate a non-pregnant woman! ha ha, smart lady!

  3. Thanks for the links! I hate the nutrition myth about eating smaller meals to stoke your metabolism. What? No. Eat smaller meals if you like eating smaller meals. Or eat 3. Or eat one big one. Whatever works for your schedule and nutrition needs!

    1. I agree! The number of meals thing I find changes for me day to day as well. Every person’s metabolism is different so it’s weird how these one-size-fits-all nutrition myths get passed around as the ‘only’ way.

  4. So glad the headaches are easing up and the nausea is gone. Now you can focus better on you and baby. Love seeing your pics for FitBlogNYC. It’s especially fun that I know who most of them are!

    1. It’s always fun putting faces and voices and personalities to blogs! One of the perks to living in a major city, for sure, is being able to attend events with other bloggers.
