I've Been Lying to You

I’ve Been Lying To You.

I’ve been lying to you.

Mainly on Instagram. A little bit on the blog, as well. Everything has been a little “less than” the truth.

Well, almost everything. Actually, only really for the past few weeks or so.

I’ve been posting photos to deliberately pretend I’m living a life that’s just not mine right now. Photos like these:

I've Been Lying to You
This is actually a rare, RARE treat for me these days.
I've Been Lying to You
This was Fran’s meal, not mine.
I've Been Lying to You
While I stand by my assertion that this is delicious, I didn’t actually drink this one.

And snippets from my posts like this:

Autumn being around the corner is not filling me with the same excitement I get when the daffodils come up and I know Summer’s nearly here. It makes me feel like the year is going too fast and I’m not taking advantage of every moment of every day. I’m officially in a bit of a funk. I haven’t been runningΒ as much, I haven’t been bloggingΒ as much and I’ve been feeling a little bit like I’m on automaton.

It wasn’t Autumn making me feel crappy.

Or, how about this:

Brooklyn version of Labor Day BBQ is pizza and beer on the stoop!

That’s a half truth. I did eat pizza.

Okay, enough beating around the bush. It’s time to apologize. I was lying to you on purpose.

Can I get a do-over? These images would be a more accurate representation of what’s been going on in my life:

Telling the Truth

Telling the Truth

Telling the Truth

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot the reason I’ve been lying to you!

I just wanted to make sure this little one was safe and sound in there for a good 12 weeks before I shared the news with you. πŸ™‚

    1. Allie, I was quietly panicking before that first ultrasound that we were going to see two little heartbeats. Holy crap, I don’t know how you do it with two boys!!! Can’t wait to see you and so happy I’m feeling a bit better – let’s see how I go with the run they’re organizing for the day!

    1. Thanks lady!!! I can’t wait to see you in a week or so at FitBlog & check out your bump!! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much, Tiff!! ‘Enjoy’ would be a stretch, but I’m pretty much over the worst of it now. πŸ™‚

  2. SHUT UP! omg I just got ALL the goosies!! Congratulations!!!! I am SO happy for you!! Can’t wait to follow along on your journey. I should have known by the type of questions you asked your last fit mama. I was reading it and I found it SO interesting that you asked her and highlighted her (not) running through her pregnancy. Amazing. SO EXCITED!!

    1. Tee hee hee!!! I’m glad it was a big surprise I was trying so hard to not hint at all on the blog! I’ve had so many pregnant mamas on Fit Mama Friday recently, totally by accident but I wondered if people would suspect just based on that!!

  3. Yay! Amazing news!!!! Soooooo happy for you both!!! Roman will be the best big brother! Congrats! and hope you feel better soon, I remember the saltine cracker and seltzer diet days all too well! Boring! LOL

    1. Thanks Schaef!! Roman is so excited. He talks to the bump all the time. Usually it’s a recap of what he’s done that day, so cute. πŸ™‚ I’m so over the try not to be sick diet!!

  4. Congratulations! I was so worried that you were “lying” because something bad. But this is wonderful, wonderful news!

    1. Phew!!!! πŸ˜‰ Thanks, Angela! I have to tell you, between reading your blog and Allie’s blog, I was SUPER nervous (and irrationally!) going to the first OB appt that we were going to see twins!

    1. Thanks Jessica! It’s been so fun having a bunch of pregnant mamas on Fit Mama Friday for inspiration while I was keeping it secret! πŸ˜‰

  5. Congrats on your pregnancy! After first trimester morning sickness with all three of mine, the mere sight of saltines makes me feel queasy πŸ˜‰ I hope you are feeling better soon!

    1. Oof, I hear you on the saltines. I think I’ve turned a corner with the morning sickness – it really was miserable!

    1. Sooooo good! I’ve been re-reading all my weekend recaps to make sure I don’t let anything slip. Much easier now the cat’s out of the bag!
