Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here.
I’m Carly- I'm a personal trainer, running coach, group fitness instructor, and mama of four boys.
Personal Trainer
I’m an ACSM certified personal trainer with a diploma from the American Academy of Personal Training. I love my job – working with my clients and helping them get strong, fit and confident in their bodies and abilities is a gift. I shared the reasons why I made a career shift to become a personal trainer here.
I work mainly in person, but once the pandemic hit, I began offering virtual sessions via Zoom and FaceTime, which has been a great way to make an impact on many more people’s lives.
One of the most rewarding experiences as a trainer is having a client tell me that something in their everyday life – walking upstairs, carrying their kids, lifting heavy things – has become significantly easier, thanks to our work together.
Running Coach
I love training runners. I’m a RRCA Certified Running Coach, and have had the opportunity to train non-runners to become racers who love the sport, to train clients to their personal bests in an event, and most importantly to share my passion for running.
Personally, I’ve competed in races from the 1 mile to a 50k, run through both my pregnancies, as well as had to start from scratch after injury, and postpartum. I’ve run a 50k trail race, two (nearly three) marathons, seventeen half marathons, one 14K, eleven 10K’s, two trail runs of 10K(ish), eight 5 miles, twenty 4 miles, one 6K, and one 5K. Running has overjoyed me, humbled me, frustrated me and is a big part of who I am. You can read all my running posts here (or just check out my Running Tips series!).
Fitness Instructor
Teaching group fitness is a joy. Being a participant in classes was one reason I was drawn to the fitness industry and making it my career. The experience of being in a class, being pushed by the people alongside you, having an instructor who knows how to make it fun even when it’s really hard, is often just what you need to get your workout done and enjoy doing it.
I love having new people in my classes, and seeing people come back time and time again.
I’ve taught many different classes – small group training, bootcamps, stretching, and more, but right now I’m teaching Barre, Spin, and my own Body Sculpt class, which is a mix of strength training, HIIT cardio, core, and using sliders for hip stabilization and mobility. I also offer most of my classes live on Zoom – come join me!
Mother
I’m a proud mama to 4 boys – Roman and Tanner, who I had in 2012 and 2015, and my older boys Parker and Austen, who are my bonus kids. They live with us full-time, so yes, I’m surrounded by boys.
It’s been important to me to introduce my boys to my love of the outdoors and fitness, so we are known as a hiking family. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world with easy access to wonderful trail systems (including the Appalachian Trail!), and it’s been an important part of my parenting.
Check out my parenting posts, as well as posts on pregnancy and prenatal fitness.

Vice President, PR/Communications
I have trained with a few people over the years, and Carly was hands down the best trainer I have ever had. Despite kicking my butt in all of our sessions, I always looked forward to our sessions because of her positive attitude and optimistic words of encouragement, which have stuck with me far outside the gym….Thank you, Carly!!
Carly W.
Graduate Student
I cannot say enough great things about Carly. She motivated me to exercise – a hard thing to do! She made it so much fun! But more importantly, she was so experienced and aware that she helped me improve a bad back and shoulder. I built so much strength that my injuries improved. She is fantastic.
