Some Words of Inspiration #kimrocks

Let me tell you about a person who’s had a big impact on me – in fact, she inspires me. Her name is Kim Turner and she’s the runner, mama and all around amazing woman who blogs at Day with KT. Β “Inspirational” is a word that gets thrown around a lot, especially in the fitness world, but when it comes to Kim, there’s no other wayΒ to describe her.

Some Words of Inspiration #kimrocks

Kim is the kind of person you “meet” online and immediately know you’d connect with in the real world as well. She is open, honest, thoughtful and kind. She loves her family wholeheartedly and she gives nothing less than all her effort for whatever goal she’s tackling. Whether it’s committing to doing her daily 44 (in which she takes a new exercise every day and does 44 repetitions for each of her 44 years!); training her son Hunter for his first half marathon; managing her own small business; or training for and attempting an ultra marathon, she is totally dedicated.

Last Saturday, Kim began her second attempt at the 50 mile distance, in grueling conditions. Like in everything she does, Kim didn’t give up, but her body broke down. Not before she had run 33.73 miles, though, making her an ultra marathoner in anyone’s book. She was disappointed with her result and I knew she would be hard on herself. That’s why I wanted to share some words of inspiration to show Kim that her perceived ‘failure’ is just that – perceived.

These aren’t just my words, though.

Here are what some of Kim’s extensive group of fans have to say:

Where do I start? Kim is everything I want to be when I grow up. πŸ™‚ Like me she has two boys, and I continue to learn from her everyday! I look forward to her uplifting and heartfelt comments because I know she means it. Kim is amazing when it comes to her daily workouts too–I can’t doΒ twoΒ and she does 44 of them (with ease!) she is so creative with her workouts and I continue to be inspired by her. I learn lots of new things from her blog daily whether it be new workout moves, recipes or just ways to handle life situations. Her attitude isΒ extremelyΒ positive and I am so happy she is my bloggy friend.Nellie from Brooklyn Active Mama

Kim inspires me in several ways. She strives to be real with people, incessantly encourages others, and continues to pursue fitness and health, always learning from any challenges that come her way. She’s a rock star when it comes to sharing her passion and motivating others and a true role model for me and many others to look up to.” Jaclyn from BumpSweat

I know Kim hasΒ impacted a lot of people through her writing and fitness, me included. I am currently soda-free, running three times a week, and hitting the gym twice weekly. Thank you for being such an influence on me. You’re kind of badass, yet smart; that’s what I’d love to be. So, thanks for the inspiration.Eli from Coach Daddy

“Kim, you are a trooper! Don’t ever think you gave up, because you didn’t. You DID WHAT YOU COULD and that is pretty bad ass. Miles are miles, it’s the heart that means the most, and that is what you accomplished!” Lindsay from Cotter Crunch

When I first stumbled upon Kim’s blog I couldn’t believe how much we have in common!Β  We’re both runners, personal trainers, married, moms to two sons, love the outdoors, and love to strength train.Β  Kim plays hard, but allows herself to have fun (enjoying a cocktail or two as she says), and that makes her real!Β  I love her daily 44’s (44 reps of exercises to honor her 44th year), and that she posts so many exercise pictures and videos.Β  If Kim is such an inspiration to this fellow trainer, she must be a huge inspiration to her clients!Deb from Deb Runs

“Why do I find Kim inspiring? For one, she is kind and thoughtful. She treats others the way they would want to be treated, which is one of the things I find most inspiring about her. She is so consistent daily with her blog that I have a hard time keeping up. In fact, I know I miss some of her posts. And yet, she usually finds the time to visit me and so many others. But what I want to say most of all, is this goal that eludes her, I know is frustrating. Perhaps there is a reason, I don’t know. What I do know though is that I admire the fact that she gives 100% in pursuit of her goals. 33.73 miles is amazing. So what if it’s not 50? Sometimes you have to listen to your body. If your body says no, there’s a reason. There’s no shame in that.” Michelle from A Dish of Daily Life

“We were asked to talk about why Kim is such an inspiration. I’m inspired by her blogging style. She is as real as it gets and reading her posts is like chatting about your day with a friend. I’m inspired by her fitness. Fitness is a lifestyle for Kim. No gimmicks or the latest fads. She inspires me to workout when I don’t want to, try new things with weights, bosus and wobbly ball thingies.Β I’m probably most inspired by her positive attitude, commitment, dedication and determination to run a 50 mile event. It takes so much mentally and physically to even attempt to reach such a challenging goal. I trained last year for a 50 mile event and less than 2 months before the race I was injured and didn’t even get to the starting line. Kim was so supportive and commented with the kindest of words. She doesn’t know it but I wrote down a comment she made and it is on my vision board right next to my computer. When I was mentally lost after being injured her words were right in front of me. Sometimes a simple comment means more than the anyone will ever know. How can you not be inspired by such a wonderful lady. Thank you Kim.” Jill from Jill Conyers | Fitness, Health and Happiness

Why isΒ Kim inspiring? Most people, myself included, stick to what they are good at, what they know, and do prettyΒ well at their chosen activity, but weΒ are missing out on so much more. Kim not only pushes her body to be strongerΒ on a daily basis, but does it in a different way every single day! That is how exercise, and evenΒ lifeΒ should be; never settling, never allowing yourself to become too comfortable. Like the famousΒ quote always says; lifeΒ begins at the end of your comfort zone, and Kim is wonderful proof of that. I only hope as I grow older and wiser, that I can learn from Kim, to challenge myself to be the best I can be and test my limits, the way Kim does every day!Tina from Fuel Your Future with Tina

“I love Kim’s blog! It’s one of the few I follow religiously. Her commitment to fitness (it doesn’t get much better than a daily workout) is an inspiration. Plus, the fact that she’s a few years ahead of me and in that kind of shape is a huge inspiration. Thank you Kim for sharing it all.” Julie from Happiness is a dish best savoured hot

Even though I’ve never met Kim in real life, I find her to be one inspiring woman. Her commitment to exercise and family, her attitude toward life and the joy she spreads in the blog world is amazing. I love checking in with her ’44’ workouts. She’s inspired me to push a little harder, try something new and to put my goals out there. She’s one fit, fearless female!Angela from Happy Fit Mama

Ever since I started reading Kim’s blog, I’ve been encouraged. Whether it be fitness related or a life lesson, she always has a positive take on it. She is a wonderful blogger friend and you can always count on her for an uplifting blog comment. She is one of my blogger friends I hope I get the chance to meet someday! ” Heidi from Idlehide

I am inspired by Kim’s passion for fitness. I love the innovative “44’s” she’s always coming up with. I admire her devotion to her beautiful boys and identify with the day-to-day stories she shares about balancing work, fitness and family. Her blog is a bright spot on the internet I like to visit often. I feel like Kim is my friend, even though I haven’t met her in real life…..yet! πŸ™‚ ” Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice

“I’m inspired by the way Kim weaves her love of running and fitness into her lifestyle.Β  She tackles challenging workouts and ultra races with confidence and reminds me that I am capable of more than I think I am.Β  I also love that she is so supportive of others in the blogging community.Β  It says a lot about what a special person she is.” Laura from Mommy Run Fast

Some Words of Inspiration #kimrocks

I have only “known” Kim for a short period of time, but in that time I’ve come to respect Kim for her commitment to fitness, her family and living a positive life. Β She is the queen of no excuses, doing what you say you’re going to do and living life to the fullest. Β So many people make excuses for not doing things, but Kim blows every excuse out of the water. Β She manages her own business, does 44 reps of an exercise every single day and is a loving mother and wife. Β If you ever say “I don’t have enough time”, “I’m too tired”, or “I can’t”, just think of Kim and you’ll realize that your excuses are just that. Β If I could meet Kim in real life, I think I would bond with her over her love of a daily cocktail and extensive workout DVD collection. Β All I can say is Kim is an amazing woman and I’m proud to call her one of my bloggy friends!Brittany from My Own Balance

“There is so much I could say about Kim that I am worried the amount of words I piece together will never emulate the true respect I have for her. She was one of the first bloggers I connected with when I started my blog in 2013 and she has stuck it through with me the entire way… that in itself is something to applaud. πŸ˜‰ She is as strong as her cocktails and one of the most determined people I follow. Plus, she is basically the more grown up version of myself so I love reading about my future thoughts. As I’ve told her a million times, she’s an inspiration to so many people. It doesn’t matter what her current challenge that she is tackling is, she’s always doing so with her best ability. Basically, she rocks. Love you Kim!” Cori from Olive to Run

Kim, what can I say about Kim? Something. Everything. What I love most about Kim is that she is genuine. She is on her blog because she loves it. Not to make money or sell you something. She does her daily 44 because she loves it. Kim is not here to impress everyone or make people feel like they have to live up to her level of fitness. She is just here because she is your friend, even if only through the world wide web. Because of this, not just because she is incredibly inspiring with her fitness (because she is), but because of her honesty and integrity she inspires me to be a better personΒ inside. Kim is the kind of person that I know I can turn to if I really need an ear to listen. I also have to admit that it’s nice having another blogger my age. πŸ˜‰ ” Carla from Real Into

Very recently, Kim started to get overwhelmed by the amount of blogging/commenting/exercising she was doing every day. She knew she needed to cut back somewhere, so what did she do? She started posting less, but posting MORE info in each post. That is why I love Kim and it says so much about her character right there. She didn’t think for a second of cutting back on her connections with other bloggers and friends. I appreciate that and feel the same. She has one of the best dispositions I’ve ever seen (or read) and I know without even a shred of doubt, that meeting her in person would not be shocking – she’d be just as warm and friendly and informative as I imagine. I consider Kim to be in my top list of favorite bloggers – and that list has nothing to do with fame, fortune, stats or even raw talent (which she has). That list is for people close to my heart. I think often that I’d like to be more like Kim – succeeding at what she does, and more importantly – getting up again after she has fallen.” Tamara from Tamara Like Camera

When I first started reading Kim’s blog, I was like, WTF she does 43 of some exercise every day! HOLY CRAP, I am not worthy!!! πŸ˜‰ And she did tons of stuff on top of that each day too!!! Then she moved on to her 44 each day. All I can say is that as an exercise person, she is beyond inspirational!!! Then you move on to her kindness as a person, what a wonderful mom & wife she is & what a friend she is to all the blog world! I am in awe of all she does as a person. The fact that she even went for that 50 miler astounds me… Never in my lifetime would I attempt. AMAZING LADY!!!!Jody from Truth2BeingFit

“Day with KT was one of the first blogs I started reading. Β I saw the picture of her doing a push-up on two med balls next to her comments, everywhere I went on the inter webs. Β I thought “I just have to check this fit chick out!” Β I’m so glad I did. Β There are some bloggers who simply respond to comments but Kim, responds with her heart. Β She has motivated and inspired me, picked me up with just a few simple words. “Simple” is key when it comes to Kim and spending a day on her blog. Β She keeps it simple, and real and heartfelt. Β Through her posts, she’s given me new moves to try with my classes, advice on how to (or not to!) parent boys and endless hours of motivation. Β I can honestly say that I’ve thought of Kim and something she has written on her blog or to me personally, when I’m out running or biking and it keeps me going. Β I’m determined to meet her someday and it would be amazing to run with her, and of course, enjoy a glass of wine afterward. Β I consider her one of my very good friends, even though we haven’t had that meeting yet. Β That’s what reading “Day with KT” will do for you!” Allie from Vita Train for Life

When I think of Kim, the first things that come to mind are: “genuine, hard worker, and good mother”.Β  Although the results of the race weren’t what Kim had hoped for, what she’s accomplished is far greater than what the average person ever could. The courage she has to set high goals and high standards for herself is an example to us all. I have the utmost respect for Kim as an elite athlete (yes Kim, you are elite in my book!) and as a mother who is dedicated so wonderfully to her family. The only thing missing in Kim’s life is a beehive hair-do, and she knows exactly what I’m talking about when I mention the beehive!Β πŸ˜‰ ” Josie from Yum Yucky

  4. I didn’t get to participate, so I will say that I am so inspired by Kim as well! I love that she gets up EVERY morning and challenges herself to be active. Sometimes I struggle to go to the gym even once a week! She is so down to earth and thoughtful, and I truly enjoy reading all of her comments on each post that I write. I also love what a devoted wife and mother she is. Lastly, but certainly not least, Kim’s positive attitude is contagious! She deserves this so much!
