If you live in or near New York, you know this weekend was bizarre – 70 degrees yesterday! At the end of December?? My brother and his family, as well as a couple of friends of mine from high school and their kids, all arrived here on Friday from Australia – I told them they would be freezing, then all this weekend we were walking around in t-shirts!
We basically took over our favorite restaurant with our enormous group of Aussies for a really fun night out:
We did the touristy thing and checked out Rockefeller Center:
The lines were crazy to skate at Rockefeller Center, so we walked down to Bryant Park, which also has an outdoor skating rink in the winter time. Unfortunately, Roman fell asleep on the way, so skating was out for us! It was so much fun watching, though! It’s not often I get to play tourist in my own city and there’s no better time of year than Christmas time when the city is so beautiful.
And of course I went running, given that it was such a crazy warm weekend! My brother Chris decided to come with me (somewhat prepared – he wore his grey dress socks with his regular walking around sneakers!) He also broke it to me as we headed out that he hadn’t actually been for a run in quite a while…He did great, though! And we replenished our glycogen stores with a beer afterwards. π
What was your favorite part of the weekend?
Is it going to be a White Christmas where you live?
Fun weekend! That would be so fun to show friends and family from Australia around NYC. I would love to join you guys just for the gorgeous accents! It miiight be a white Christmas here, we’re just up the coast from you though so we might have a warm Christmas! Have a wonderful day!

Wishing you a very happy Christmas as well, Heidi! I always forget how spectacular NYC is until I have people visiting to show around. It’s been lots of fun.
I saw the picture of the socks/shoes on instagram and LOVED it π Hey, at least he didn’t make an excuse out of it and not go right!?

Honestly, Cori, I was just impressed he actually remembered to pack a pair of shorts that day! π
HaHa – love that your brother went with the dress socks and regular shoes – good for him.
Sounds like you had an incredible weekend – so happy that you are getting to spend time with family and friends!!!
