I hope everyone is enjoying family and friends and good times! I’m taking a little break to soak up a certain small person’s indescribable joy at the prospect of a jolly, bearded man in a red suit breaking into our house tonight.
He is a little confused, though – we have the Night Before Christmas book and there’s a roaring fire in the fireplace that Santa has allegedly just descended. Roman is torn between trying to convince me to light a fire in our (non-working) fireplace and being concerned that Santa is going to be suffering from third degree burns by the end of the night.
The 3.5 of us are enjoying Christmas at home in Brooklyn tomorrow. I hope whatever you’re up to, it’s merry and bright. π
Merry Christmas! So funny that Roman wants to light the fireplace but is worried about Santa. Since I grew up in Manhattan and didn’t have a fireplace, I was very concerned about how Santa would get into our apartment, so my mother told me he just climbs in through the fireplace. Why that didn’t seem creepy at the time, I’m not sure. π Enjoy the holiday with your boys!

Growing up in Australia, we obviously had summer Christmases, so I used to worry that Santa would be too hot by the time he got to us. I don’t think I ever questioned the whole fireplace thing – I just assumed he came in through the front door! ha ha. Enjoy the holiday, too, lady!
Merry Christmas – I hope your family time was awesome!!!
