Meet Casey
Today on Fit Mama Friday, meet Casey from CSW Fit Yoga, an incredibly fit mama and a fellow Sweat Pink Ambassador! Casey is a full time Wellness Coordinator in a Retirement Community, a Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor, wife of 10 years to her husband Kyle, and of course a Fit Mama to her two gorgeous boys, Bryson (a.k.a Bubba), 6 years old and Eliyas (a.k.a Big E), 2 years old. Needless to say, this mama makes sure fitness is part of her everyday life. She also takes what she calls an ‘insane amount’ of selfie workout pictures on her Instagram. Oh, and pictures of the general chaos and chickens, on the farm where she lives!
Thanks for being a Fit Mama Friday, Casey! So first off, let me ask you about yoga. It’s obviously important to you, since it’s part of your business name.
Definitely. My fitness story started the day I was born, my family always says. I was born into an active immediate family, and extended family. Sundays would be spent at the family farm playing softball on the front lawn(adults vs kids), riding horses, or running through the hayfields playing tag.
I was very active throughout high school participating in every and any sport there was. Athletics allowed me to play collegiate basketball and volleyball so maintaining a fit and healthy body through exercises and diet were crucial for success both on and off the court. This made the transition from college to married life to kids really easy.
Being active has always been a priority and it continues today.
And what about your pregnancies? Were you able to continue working out when you were pregnant with each of your sons?
I continued to workout and eat clean through both of my pregnancies. I was one of the lucky ones who did not have any morning sickness and was able to keep working out without any limitations. I delivered both babies naturally and I pushed for a max of maybe 30 minutes with each one. My sisters always tell me that I had the two most easy, perfect pregnancies and I do not disagree.
Wow, you are one lucky mama! That’s amazing. So you work full-time as a Wellness Consultant in a retirement community, as well as being a trainer, yoga instructor, mama and wife. How do you fit in working out? And, as well as your daily yoga, what do you do for your workouts?
With two boys, a farmer husband who also work full time, and a full time job the only time I can really work out effectively is at 4:45 a.m. in the morning and it works for me. I enjoy getting up at that time being able to have that hour of me and the gym…I love how strong I feel after a workout, the feeling of pride that I was able to accomplish those exercises.
I continue to workout now six days a week. Four days are spent lifting, and two are cardio HIIT (high intensity interval training).
How has being a Fit Mama affected your family life?
Well, I think the biggest thing that I love about working out is the example I am showing to my children. If I am working out in the afternoon and they are around me, they will grab “their weights” and work out along with me, which I love and am so proud of! We talk about foods that we are eating – how they power us through the day, provide energy, and are great for our bodies. To see them learn and grow is truly empowering to me.
Kids are just like sponges, so if you give them a healthy example to absorb, it just becomes their ‘norm’. It’s so awesome!
Are you training for anything specific these days, or just for life?
I am currently training right now for a Fitness Competition in November so my training is dedicated towards that. I am nervous and excited to cross it off my bucket list.

Wow definitely an inspiration to all moms out there. I’m not a mom yet but she definitely taught me some tips to become a healthy mom and I will need that for the future. 🙂
I know – I can’t believe she’s up before 5am to work out! (I am in awe of anyone who can do that!!)
