Maybe you remember earlier this month, when I took part in the spring style with prAna and Fit Approach yoga Instagram challenge.
I bent over backwards doing the laundry:
I did the dancer in my living room:
BUT – my everyday style has been lacking. I admit it. It’s been a whole lot of lounge wear (okay, okay, pajamas) and workout gear around here. Is it the life of a SAHM? Of a blogger? Of someone who wants to go out for a run if she has the slightest sliver of an oppotunity in her day? Maybe all of the above.
In any event, my total and utter lack of style meant I was thrilled to partner with prAna and Fit Approach and receive a beautiful piece from the prAna spring collection to review. Disclosure: prAna was gracious enough to allow me to choose a complimentary item from their spring collection (which is amazing, by the way). All opinions are my own.
I was all set to pick out a workout top and then I stopped and thought, no. I am going to up my mama-style game too.
So I did.
I chose the Cali dress, in these gorgeous blues. Here’s why it works for me: It’s super comfy, made of their Veeda performance fabric with stretch and sweat wicking. It has a cute racerback style with a built-in shelf bra that actually supports and flatters the girls. And trust me, if a nursing mama tells you that a bra is not necessary with this dress, then you’re all good. (It also comes with those padded inserts, but they are removable if you happen to have enough natural padding already.) Best of all, this dress is just as comfy and perfect for hanging out with my boys at home as it is going out and looking stylish.
Bonus: While this is obviously a cute spring dress, don’t discount the power of layering to make this work for the last gasp of winter, or early spring when it’s still a little chilly. Throw some tights and a cute jacket on and you’re all set no matter what the weather is like.
Best of all, prAna is dedicated to environmental standards by partnering with bluesign. By purchasing prAna clothing, you know you’re buying a product that has been manufactured without harmful chemicals, in an environmentally friendly and safe production. bluesign and prAna are committed to reducing water and air pollution through manufacturing, as well as ensuring the safety and conscience of both its workers and consumers. This just rocks. If a company makes yoga clothes, it makes sense to do it in an ecologically conscious and ethical way.
And yay! I have a discount code for you guys! You can get 15% off prAna clothing with the code PSSS16FFD.
What are you waiting for? As well as all kinds of workout clothes, like cute capris, tanks, t-shirts and yoga pants, prAna also offers skirts, dresses, and casual pants and tops for everyday wear. The discount code is good until 3/30/16!
SAHMs, what do you wear around the house?
Are the environment and ethical manufacturing practices important for you when you’re choosing where to shop?
Yayayayaaaaay indeed.
I love all things PrAna and have four probably longer than they would want me to share or remember π

I’m so happy I got to try them! In already working out how to budget for (yet more) workout gear because I’m sure it’s amazing as well. π
Love me some Prana! You are gorgeous in that dress!

Thank you!! It’s such a departure for me to not be in sweats at home, ha ha!
If it was up to me I’d be coming into the lab with PJ’s and sweatpants…. Oh wait a second., i have actually done this LOL!! I ‘ve done it a couple of weekends in my old lab in NY π So trust me when I tell you it is not only SAHM or bloggers that don’t want to get out of their PJs or leggings π Now that I am in a new lab and I have to look presentable – because as i figured out looks matter in this place Yikes! – i m struggling to find nice but comfortable clothes… and fashion and outfits are so not my strong suit…
FYI I love the dress! Any idea if they ship to the UK?

Looking presentable every day would be hard!! It’s been such a long time since I’ve had to worry about clothes and makeup! Not sure if they ship to the UK, but I did find some places that carry prAna in London: http://www.prana.com/dealer-locator.html . I bet you could ask if one of them could get it in stock! π
I love PrAna’s clothes for hiking! And their Kara jeans are simply the best. That dress looks so pretty on you!

I’ve heard awesome things about their Kara jeans – they’re on my wish list!
That’s such a cute dress! I love PrAna! And, believe me, I live in PJs most of the time too. A dress with leggings is my second go-to!

Dresses are so easy because it’s just one thing – no matching required!
That dress is perfect on you! I absolutely love the colors!
And yes, it’s so easy to wear “gym clothes” every single day when you barely leave the house. I try to class it up when I can but most days I feel like there is no point π

It’s an ongoing battle to be a presentable mama, for sure!

Hey Carly, I must say that you got a simple and cool style that I really admire. I want some prAna too. And that dress you wearing looks good on you.

Thanks Cindy! It’s one of the most comfortable dresses I own.
