Scenes from a weekend #52

How was your weekend? Everyone getting ready for Thanksgiving? We had a pretty laid-back weekend – I ordered all the food for the Thanksgiving feast on Fresh Direct & it was all delivered yesterday. I’m ready! I’m going to be prepping a little bit each day so I have next to nothing left to do on Thanksgiving Day.

The only thing I had left to do was order pies! Took care of that as well:

Originally I was going to do the pumpkin and the chocolate pecan pie, but Fran gave me puppy dog eyes about the lack of apple pie, so I switched the pecan for the salted caramel apple. All that baking was EXHAUSTING, so the three of usΒ had a little afternoon tea time treat.

Got out for a gorgeous run on Saturday – I was worried I’d be freezing, but by theΒ afternoon it was perfect running weather. I layered arm sleeves under a regular long sleeve running top, which was super warm. I think with a cold weather top and maybe a light vest, this would get me through a regular winter of running. (NOT polar vortex running!)

Oh, P.S. if you have incredible early evening light like this, taking advantage of it for a running selfie is never a bad idea. πŸ˜‰

I felt great, I had one walk break in mile 3Β andΒ just took it really easy and enjoyed the run. Happy to be feeling this well and have greatΒ energy at 20 weeks!

I received some of the Momentum foot notes as part of a gift bag at an even this week, so they also featured in my run. I’m going to check out all their mottos and see if they have any of my fave mantras.

Roman got in some quality time with our boy kitty TooToo while slowly waking up from a nap. TooToo’s sister Cassie is doing better – she’s putting a little more weight on her leg, so we’re hoping the antibiotics are doing the job and we don’t have to deal with a biopsy. Fingers crossed!!

We spent lots of time outdoorsΒ on Sunday – the boys gave me a glorious sleep-in, which was MUCH appreciated, then we all went to the playground and for a meandering walk around Prospect Park. Autumn leaves are pretty much Roman’s favorite thing in the world right now.

I don’t know if I’m going through some kind of weird pregnancy nesting thing early, or what’s going on, but I have been on a cleaning and organizing tear lately. The past few weeks I’ve tackled our kitchen catch-all table, gone through all my clothes and given away a bunch as well as stored all the non-maternity stuff I won’t wear until next year sometime, reorganized the linen closet, then yesterday I rearranged and scrubbed every inch of the cupboards and counter space in the kitchen. The boys also pitched in on the cleaning frenzy.

    1. Tina, that’s so funny, I actually suggested your site to my elf for the meatless Monday, before I even read your comment! I love your recipes!

    1. Next year will be so fun with baby Cooper being a *tiny* bit more aware of what’s going on!! πŸ˜‰ Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

    1. My husband is in awe when I go on a binge like that because for the most part I fall WAY more into your camp! I could probably convince him to have 10 children just by reminding him how clean and organized I get while preggo!

  2. Ah! I love how organized you are for Thanksgiving!! I’ve been cleaning like crazy too, in preparation for my brother, SIL, niece and nephew all coming on Wed and staying though the weekend!!! I can’t wait until they get here, and I want to be able to relax so I need to do all the upfront work…it will be worth it!

    1. That’s exactly why I decided to be militantly organized, so I could relax more during the day itself! πŸ™‚ Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

  3. Wow, that is my kind of pie menu! I love your choice and the chocolate peanut butter one is calling to me too.
The cupcake looks really nice too.
Sending good wishes for your cat!
My weekend was pretty much a nothing because I have a terrible cold. I still made it out for a haircut, though, because priorities.
